These exchangers are designed according to the Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers Association (TEMA). TEMA also displays variable types in a text box to tell the designer what the variable is.

In the data sheet of the transformer, the type of transformer is mentioned in letters like which is shown in the following data sheet, namely BET. Referring to the typical TEMA diagram shown in figure 1.1, B is the end of the channel: an integrated cover cap, E is the shape of the structure in a parallel flow path. A floating head exchanger consists of a vertical tube plate and a floating tube plate. Pipes and pipe fittings can expand freely to accommodate thermal expansion. The floating pipe wall must be covered by a floating head cover. The arrangement of the header and the table cover is easy for viewing.

Basics Of Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers

Floating head exchangers are used when the temperature of the water in the heat exchanger creates expansion problems. Most heat exchangers are of this type.

Here the pipes can expand and contract independently, but a solid pipe wall is required. To inspect the pipes in this type of transformer, the pipe shell must be removed.

U-tube transformers are used when the surrounding water is cold and the tubes inside cannot expand or corrode. Below is an animation for a U-tube exchanger.

This is the simplest and most popular of the converter. These types of transformers are built with a tubular wall integrated into the structure. It uses straight pipes attached on both sides to tubular plates, which are firmly attached to the box. None of these are for pipe extensions. The temperature limit for heat exchangers is 65 degrees. The end caps are removable, so the inside of the tubes can be cleaned with dipsticks or similar tools, but the inner surface of the shell cannot be cleaned and depends on the water on the side of the shell to clean. Plate Heat Exchangers Layout

A vessel type exchanger uses the same mechanism as a shell and a heat exchanger, but the importance of this type is that it is used to partially condense the shell fluid. It is used as a reboiler in the process industry and as a water cooler in the refrigeration industry.

The most important feature of a pot transformer is its shape. It consists of a U-shaped container or floating headstock that is installed in a large structure. The hose clamp is movable and removable. The large space at the top of the tube bundle acts as a steam release point.

The water to be melted enters the bottom, close to the tubular blade, and covers the shell of the tubes; The steam stays at the top of the shell, and the dry steam is emitted from the top nozzles, while the weir helps maintain the water level above the tube stack. The lower nozzle is used at this point to drain the Excel liquid.

This type of transformer is generally used for low voltage and low temperature applications. These typically include end caps, delivery caps, inlet/outlet nozzles, plates and gaskets. Look at the picture below

Construction And Working Of Shell And Tube Type Heat Exchanger

The transport box consists of two back plates and several thin plates with gaskets between them. These boards are carved in different ways to allow the water to flow. The plates are arranged so that hot water flows through plates 1, 3, and 5 while cold water flows through plates 2, 4, and 6. This arrangement allows in hot and cold water when changing temperature without mixing.

A plate type heat exchanger requires less installation and maintenance than shell type and similar surface types. Below is a working animation for the wall heat exchanger.

Spiral heat exchangers are often used in chemical plants and in the construction of the cycle. Two layers of boards are rolled to form a concentric spiral pitch. They are arranged in such a way as to form two concentric channels. The hot water flows through a channel and to the right of the cold water. This side-to-side flow is responsible for heat transfer between two immiscible fluids.
