Opener Sier Newan, who played 135 first-class matches and 177 List A games, accused Indian cricket of putting the IPL ahead of Test cricket, saying the players were not motivated to finish last year’s series.
India tea has scheduled a three-week tour of England, during which Tea will play a pending Test, followed by three T20Is and more than 50 overs.
Newan said: “Coming to India to finish the last Test series at Old Trafford is a throwback to the way Test cricket was dragged out of the last game, letting down the paying public.”

Test cricketer Rohit Shara has been appointed as India’s all-powerful captain in the BCCI team to step down from Virat Kohli’s captaincy of the Indian cricket team in T20Is and relieve him of the leadership role in ODIs.
