Kolkata Knight Riders’ thrilling win over Punjab Kings made them the fifth team to score 10 points in the IPL 2023 table.
Rinku Singh again finished brilliantly for Kolkata Knight Riders as they beat Punjab Kings by five wickets on Monday to keep their IPL playoff hopes alive. A half-century from KKR skipper Nitish Rana and a big drive from Andre Russell in the death overs of their 180 chase saw Rink finish the game not out on 10 balls in 21 overs.
Earlier, Varun Chakraborty once again led his bowling department brilliantly, taking 3/26 as KKR put up a neat bowling display to restrict PBKS to 179 for seven after the visitors opted to bat on a slow wicket. In response to this show, KKR’s batting was led by a stellar effort from Rana as he rose to No.3 and laid the foundation with a 38-ball 51 (6×4, 1×6).

Third-placed Lucknow Super Giants are just one point clear of the chasing pack with 11 points, while second-placed Chennai Super Kings are at 13th. Gujarat Titans are leading the table with 16 points.
There were no changes in the first five of the Orange Cap table. However, Rinku Singh has now climbed to the 10th spot with 337 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 151.12. Faf du Plessis continues to lead the table with 511 runs at a strike rate of 157.71 while Yashaswi Jaiswal comes second with 477 runs at a strike rate of 160.60.
