Should have watched Lagaan this afternoon instead of the #INDvsENG match. Terrible game from England though. The batting was on fire. Sunday’s final looks like it’s going to be one helluva match. — Saket Gokhale (@Saket Gokhale) November 10, 2022
Team India managed to post a good score of 168/6 in the second semi-final of T20 World Cup 2022 against England in Adelaide on Thursday (November 10). However, rivals England chased down the target in 16 overs against India, with Alex Hales hitting an unbeaten 86 off 47 balls and Jos Buttler hitting an unbeaten 80 off 49 balls. It was a one-sided victory for England as they dominated from the start and their openers put India out of contention.

On another brilliant day for England, Bess took four wickets along with Virat Kohli
All viewers who haven’t seen Test cricket since the 2005 Ashes had to do was watch Rishabh Pant put Jack Leach in the stands to see how the game has changed.

Any skeptics needing further evidence could have pointed to the score in Chittagong where West Indies debutant Kyle Meyers hit a double century on debut against Bangladesh to chase down 395 in the fourth innings on day five. Modern players have no fear and England will think what is the safe target to leave India. Nothing is impossible with guys like Pant.
Test cricket is proving to be a boon in disguise, and stars like Pant are making the format more fun than ever. It was a truly magnificent day of cricket: aggressive pace bowling, a mature display from Dom Bess, a brilliant diving catch by Joe Root, followed by Pant’s pulse-pounding response and a ridiculous outing by Cheteshwar Pujara. With India 257 for six, 321 for six, and thanks to the second new ball, England are on top and their hosts are in the unusual position of fighting for their lives in the home Test.
Pant was the star. At 73 for four in reply to England’s 578, no one could be expected to be wary of the 6 and support Pujara at the other end. no chance
With Leach aiming the ball outside the off stump into the leg hole, the bounce was unreliable but Pant hit back from the IPL playbook. He faced six balls from Leach, four over long on and one that disappeared over the fence at deep midwicket.

Leach never played a professional T20 match. Here he found out what it felt like to go at 11 o’clock. Pant scored a total of 91 runs but luck should always be with you for that kind of approach on the third day pitch. On the contrary, the bowling side only needs luck once. Leach later got a revenge of sorts by taking a catch from Pant as he tried to hit the base in the first part of the stand.
Pant is a brilliant talent, and his game plan earlier in the day was to take the attack to Ben Stokes’ left-arm bowling, both reckoning that hitting with spin gave them some protection. The difference is that Stokes has also learned when to change the pace of a Test innings and when Pant becomes more experienced and recognizes the right time to control himself, he is unstoppable.
Bess again thanked luck for four for 55 but dismissed superstar-in-the-making Pant as well as three top-ten world-ranked batsmen, enjoying a brilliant first day’s bowling in India. took
The selection removed Virat Kohli on 11 runs, and not just because of his status. Bess thought he needed to bowl a touch wider to play both edges. He lured Kohli forward and his hard hand ball was met with a bit of spin that took the inside edge and Ollie Pope took a smart catch at short leg. Kohli was restless on the return and never used his feet to dominate the bases, a mark of honor he is unlikely to repeat.

A full toss to extra cover by Ajinkya Rahane where Root took a brilliant diving catch to the left and Bess took the third catch as Pujara’s brilliant innings fortunately ended. He jumped back at a short ball and shouldered it hard to hit Pope at cover at short leg and had Rory Burns caught at midwicket.
Bess was more accurate against the Sri Lankans, bowling a better length, but tired in the final hour when Pant tried to hit him over the ropes as he watched his century. Bess played the ball wide to tempt Pant, who couldn’t escape the opportunity, giving his side his wicket still behind 352 and two full days to go.
He got Leach off his line and length, and the real sign of the left-hander’s problems was when he bowled a poor delivery to right-hander Pujara. The left-hander should have threatened more to turn the ball away from Pujara but he had no rhythm, his confidence shattered. After Pant’s dismissal, he made amends in the last hour and attributed it to his character.
Archer was outstanding as the new-ball took two 25s in the 2019 Ashes and after zipping off a pitch, bowled his best five overs against pace for England that didn’t leave everyone. His wickets enabled Bess to bowl hard at the middle-order batsmen who had to rebuild. With a mountain of runs on the board, Bess got a chance.
